Purpose

The 35th Division Hall of Fame is designed to recognize individuals who have had or have a service connection with the 35th Division at any time, beginning in 1917 with the initial activation of the 35th Infantry Division.

Such persons who become inductees into this Hall of Fame shall have made significant contributions to the achievement, tradition, or history of the 35th Division of the United States Army, the 35th Division Association, and their community, state, or nation.

The 35th Division Hall of Fame is located in the 35th Infantry Division Museum at the Museum of the Kansas National Guard, 6700 SW Topeka Ave, Bldg 301, Topeka, KS.

Selection Process

Members of the 35th Division Association, as well as others, are eligible to submit nominations for induction into the 35th Division Hall of Fame. Nominators must complete and sign the nomination form, included with this website, and must provide data for future contacts.

To be considered at the Annual Conference, nominations must be received by August 1 of each year. The Hall of Fame Committee, appointed by the president of the 35th Division Association, will review nominations submitted and select three individuals for induction. Nominations approved by the Committee will be inducted into the Hall of Fame at the next year’s Annual Conference.

Criteria for Selection

An individual must meet the requirements outlined below to be selected as a member of the 35th Division Hall of Fame. Each prospective inductee shall:

  • Have served honorably in the 35th Infantry Division or in a unit attached or assigned to the 35th Infantry Division..
  • Have made significant contributions to the achievement, history, or tradition of the 35th Infantry Division and/or 35th Division Association.
  • Have retired or transferred from the 35th Infantry Division or died three years prior to being selected for membership, whichever date occurs first. “Retire” shall mean transfer to the Retired Reserve upon completion of at least twenty (20) of service; “transfer” shall mean movement to another unit by legal authority, and “discharge” shall mean honorably released from active or reserve component duty without a further military obligation.
  • Not be a current member of the 35th Division Hall of Fame Committee, or any committee which might be charged with nominating or selecting potential members to the Hall of Fame, at the time of selection.
