1921 – 2021
MAJ Norvin L. Vogel, Sr. served as a Platoon Sergeant in Co L, 134th Inf, during WW II, fighting through France, Belgium, Luxembourg, and Holland into Germany as a Platoon Sergeant. He was involved in the Crossing of the Roer River and the capture of Hilfarth as he fought his way into Germany with the 134th Inf. After WW II he transferred to the U. S. Army Reserve, then the Pennsylvania ARNG, receiving a commission and serving as a Battery Commander, Operations Officer, and Signal Officer. His awards include the Bronze Star Medal, Presidential Unit Citation, Combat Infantryman’s Badge, and WW II Victory Medal. He passed away at the age of 99 on Sept. 11, 2021 in Allentown, PA.
